"The rival camps of Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama clashed Tuesday over the meaning of Obama's claim in a Democratic presidential debate that he'd be willing to meet with leaders of rogue nations such as Cuba, North Korea and Iran.

Clinton supporters characterized it as a gaffe that underscored the freshman senator's lack of foreign-policy savvy while Obama's team claimed his response displayed judgment and a repudiation of President Bush's diplomacy."

I have been in this country for the last 17 years. It doesn’t shock me that Obama’s overture to talking to countries America targeted unfairly in the past (because they rejected total submission to USA) interpreted as cowardly. What is that tells me about America’s people looking forward to live in peaceful world in respect to reach out and talk to the “enemy?” nil! It is not only George Bush (who is a war criminal) or his regime which is driving the foreign policy agenda, but it is also the main stream media and overwhelming majority of people in the “land of the free” believe in the same line. That is why Barack Obama’s statement is bad enough to jeopardize his chance to compete with a warmonger Hillary Clinton (whose authorization gave George the green light to rape). The Republican Party candidate Ron Paul, and Democratic Party candidate such as Dennis Kucinich (Strength through peace) clearly standing no chance to be nominees in their respective parties. Americans are against their president George W. Bush simply because he lost the war. They don’t care about a million Iraqi death, or two million refugees caused by their war; after all they have elected him twice – I mean twice! The guy doesn’t have a single quality to him. Clearly what Americans wanted was a warmonger but also could restore dignity through rape of other nations; but alas, they couldn’t see the fact that there is no dignity in raping defenseless people. Apparently talking to Fidel Castro on whose country the US placed embargo for decades is a worst act of treason. It is rather blowing up the Cubans in their homes is a good cause in the minds of people of America. It is a measure of patriotism here in America not just some sick joke.

Evidence of torture used in Iraq | Special Reports | Guardian Unlimited Politics : "The Foreign Office says the 'government, including its intelligence and security agencies, never use torture for any purpose' ( MI5 and MI6 to be sued for first time over torture, September 12). The evidence in the public domain from the court martial into the death of Baha Mousa and the serious abuse of 10 other Iraqi civilians is clear in establishing this is not true. UK armed forces went into Iraq with a written policy that allowed hooding, and with a policy of training interrogators to use hooding, stressing and sleep deprivation to gain intelligence. Iraqi civilians were routinely hooded in up to three sandbags - and even old plastic cement bags. When Baha Mousa died in September 2003, partly as a result of abuse while hooded, common sense dictates that at least at that point those in positions of responsibility within the civil service and military would have acted to change the poli...
