allAfrica.com: Somalia: Opposition Group Elects Leaders. (Page 1 of 1)The newly-set up Somali opposition group in Asmara has elected sheekh shariif sheekh Ahmed, former top leader of the defeated Islamic courts as the executive leader of the group while fprmer parliament speaker Shariif Hassan was elected was elected to lead the central committee of the group.

The opposition group calling its self, Alliance for the Liberation of Somalia consists of 191 members including Somalis in the Diaspora, former MPs of the current Somali parliament and leaders of the Islamic courts they have vowed to drive Ethiopian forces out of Somalia soon after they were formed out of a week long convention in the Eritrean capital city of Asmara.
