Al Jazeera English - Africa - Probe sought into Nigeria killings: "A US-based rights group has urged Nigeria's vice-president to order an immediate criminal investigation into 'a massacre of at least 150 Muslim residents' of a town in central Nigeria.

In a statement, Corinne Dufka, Human Rights Watch's (HRW) senior West Africa researcher, said the killings in Kuru Karama, 30km south of the city of Jos, required 'the authorities to act now'."

Broken Spring?       : Information Clearing House

Broken Spring?       : Information Clearing House This is a sequel to my June 2011 article, ‘After the spring’, on the upheavals in the Arab world. The outcomes and potential outcomes of these uprisings have also acquired new, very significant dimensions. These include a complex entanglement with the accelerated preparations for a possible attack on Iran, and a poisonous, sectarian aspect that could have the consequence of ripping Syria and the Middle East apart.
