Poor George Tenet; He Still Doesn't Get It - by Ray McGovern

Poor George Tenet; He Still Doesn't Get It - by Ray McGovern
George Tenet's book shows that he remains, first and foremost, a politician – with no clue as to the proper role of intelligence work. He is unhappy about going down in history as "Slam-Dunk Tenet." But, George protests, his famous remark to President Bush on Dec. 21, 2002, was not meant to assure the president that available intelligence on weapons of mass destruction in Iraq was a "slam dunk." Rather he meant that the argument that Saddam Hussein had such weapons could be enhanced to slam-dunk status in order to sell war on Iraq. Those of you who tuned in to CBS' 60 Minutes Sunday night heard Tenet explain what he meant when he uttered the words he now says everyone misunderstood or distorted in order to blame him for the Iraq war. What he says he meant was simply:

"We can put a better case together for a public case." [sic]

San Diego - Even as the government was investigating whether a Marine officer failed to probe the death of 24 Iraqi civilians, he was being recommended for a Bronze Star medal partly for his actions the day of the killings, his attorney said Wednesday.

First Lt. Andrew A. Grayson, of Springboro, Ohio, was in a team of intelligence operatives that inspected the scene of the Nov. 19, 2005, attack in Haditha. The killings were carried out by a Marine squad in the aftermath of a roadside bomb explosion that left one Marine dead."
A few minutes ago I was watching George Tenet on CBS 60 MINUTES. That guy is basically a human scum. He presided over the largest torture chambers established by his government; he transferred people to get tortured by friends of the U.S; he presided over giving and receiving lies of information about Iraq’s WMD (all that chemical and biological weapon garbage). Yet he comes and says the National Intelligent Estimate he presented over was the best thing he could do to implicate Saddam and clear the way for invasion. (That estimate before the war invented LIES, LIES AND LIES) you think the scum would regret for his participation in a rape of Iraq? No! the garbage man as he is, he couldn’t even capture or kill Osama and his murderous bunches after they slaughter more than 200 hundred innocent people in East African bombs (in Kenya and Tanzania) in 1998 way before 2001 attack by the terrorist group! Tenet was the director then! He has been described [Osama]by the White House as "the…

Who’s the Greater Menace?Officials in Virginia are taking heavy flak for their failure to act on early warnings that South Korean Seung-Hui Cho, who massacred 32 students and teachers at Virginia Tech, was a seriously disturbed menace to his community

How then to judge the United States Congress which continues to ignore overwhelming evidence that George W. Bush is an infinitely greater threat to his countrymen; indeed to the entire globe.

Ramzy Baroud: Stealing from the Poor and Giving to the Rich

Ramzy Baroud: Stealing from the Poor and Giving to the Rich Locating Dartmouth House, where Hans von Sponeck, former UN humanitarian coordinator for Iraq was scheduled to speak in London 18 April, was a challenge. Yet having been lost for an hour in the ever-confusing and expanding city of London was the least of my concerns the moment I slipped quietly into the lecture hall. His statements were shocking, as were his many statistics: Iraq was simply and shamelessly robbed blind during the period of US-championed UN sanctions. Sadly, the robbery and mismanagement continue to this day, but now the figures are much more staggering.

Baghdad residents find little security

Baghdad residents find little security
"We are calling it the traffic-jam plan rather than the security plan, because traffic jams are the only things that have increased," said Isam Jasim of Sadr City, an impoverished Shiite district where U.S. and Iraqi troops established a presence in early March. Now, entering the massive neighborhood from central Baghdad requires going through one of three checkpoints, the roads to which are usually jammed with cars, taxis and minivans caught in bottlenecks.

Displaced Iraqis in and outside of Iraq

Displaced Iraqis in and outside of Iraq. These heart wrenching stories from the refugees mouth reported by Dhar Jamail is extensive. Iraqis are now refugees by millions, yet the country that raped Iraq and destroyed it, won’t help them. Americans were quick to support their leader the terrorist George W. Bush rape of Iraq; I haven’t see any demonstration yet in support of Iraqi people who are getting blown up and made refugees by millions. As far as Americans are concerned Iraqis deserve what they got.

Insurgents claim 'new methods' in Iraq

Article Last Updated: 04/24/2007 09:13:15 PM PDT

BAGHDAD - Two dump trucks sped down the road, then took aim at an outpost defended by paratroopers of the 82nd Airborne Division.

Under heavy gunfire, one of the heavy vehicles smashed into an outer ring of concrete barriers and exploded. The second rammed into the wrecked truck, dragging it and other rubble before it exploded 30 yards from the building housing the post's troops, collapsing two walls.

Nine American soldiers lay dead and 20 others were injured, U.S. officials said Tuesday as an al-Qaida-linked group claimed it used "new methods" in staging the attack in volatile Diyala province.

The assault underscored the ability of guerrillas of the Sunni Arab-dominated insurgency to wage war in Iraq four years after the U.S.-led invasion, and it came in a region that has seen violence escalate since U.S. and Iraqi troops launched the security crac…

Gunmen Kill 74 at Ethiopian Oil Field - New York Times

Published: April 24, 2007
ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia (AP) -- Gunmen raided a Chinese-run oil field near the Somali border on Tuesday, killing 65 Ethiopians and nine Chinese workers, an official of the Chinese company said. An Ethiopian rebel group claimed responsibility.

Seven Chinese workers were kidnapped in the morning attack at the oil installation in a disputed region of eastern Ethiopia, Xu Shuang, the general manager of Zhongyuan Petroleum Exploration Bureau, told The Associated Press.

China has increased its presence in Africa in recent years in a hunt for oil and other natural resources to feed its rapidly growing economy. Its forays into areas considered politically unstable, however, has exposed Chinese workers to attacks.

The Ogaden National Liberation Front said in a statement sent to the Associated Press they had launched ''military operations against units of the Ethiopian armed forces guarding …

The document provides sufficient details on the six work locations producing these concrete blocks, for easier targeting.

Constant Conflict

Constant ConflictThere will be no peace. At any given moment for the rest of our lifetimes, there will be multiple conflicts in mutating forms around the globe. Violent conflict will dominate the headlines, but cultural and economic struggles will be steadier and ultimately more decisive. The de facto role of the US armed forces will be to keep the world safe for our economy and open to our cultural assault. To those ends, we will do a fair amount of killing.

Scores of Ethiopian troops flee Somalia to Yemen: report

Apr 17, 2007, 17:51 GMT

Sana'a - Scores of Ethiopian army troops have arrived off the coast of Yemen onboard two boats belonging to smugglers after they fled fighting with Islamic insurgents in Somalia, a press report said on Tuesday.

Some 89 Ethiopian soldiers arrived in the Arqa area in southern Yemen after crossing the Gulf of Aden from Bosaso city in the semi-autonomous region of Puntland in northeast Somalia, the al-Ayyam daily newspaper said in a report on its website.

The paper said 49 Somali refugees were aboard the boats that carried the soldiers, who were wearing civilian clothes.

An Ethiopian army officer was quoted as saying that he and his comrades had fled the ranks of Ethiopian troops in Somalia after a dramatic escalation in fierce fighting with Somali Islamic insurgents.

EthiopianReview.com :: View topic - Woyanne forces bomb markets and civilian homes: "SomaliNet) At least 20 people mostly civilians have been killed and more than 40 others were wounded in a renewed fighting that raged in the Somalia capital Mogadishu overnight, local medical sources said on Wednesday – the anticipated hopes dashed out with crisis worsening. "
People of the world should never forget the slaughter of more than 300 people and other 300 wounded is squarely falls on the shoulder of the mass murderer George W Bush. This mass murderer just like Hitler was, elected by his people to lead his nation. Germany suffered hugely for supporting their leader who killed millions of people around the world and he was responsible for the “Second World War”. George Bush is also responsible for his war against Muslims waged now in many countries. His war radicalized many young Muslims to fall under some extremist groups running under religion of Islam. The groups are very obscure despite the fact alqaida is the obvious one that stands out. Osama and his deputy and other murderers used their religion to attack military and civilian targets justifying even the killing of Muslims, children and women who has nothing to do with the war of terrorists. Iraq is the first war besieged by car bomb, road side bomb, and human bomb a combination which devas…

Leave Somalia or face all-out war, Ethiopia told : Mail & Guardian OnlineEthiopia must withdraw its troops from Somalia immediately or face an all-out war that "no army" could resist, three senior Somali leaders warned on Wednesday.

The three, including top Islamist leader Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed and Hussein Aidid, who holds a post in Somalia's government, were meeting in the Eritrean capital for talks.

Uncle oSAMa Says: I Want YOU To Invade Iraq

Go ahead. Send me a new generation of recruits. Your bombs will fuel their hatred of America and their desire for revenge. Americans wont be safe anywhere. Please, attack Iraq. Distract yourself from fighting Al Qaeda. Divide the international community. Go ahead. Destabilize the region. Maybe Pakistan will fall -- we want its nuclear weapons. Give Saddam a reason to strike first. He might draw Israel into a fight. Perfect! So please -- invade Iraq. Make my day.

And anyone who talks about an "intelligence failure" is missing the point. The problem lay not with intelligence professionals, but with the Bush and Blair administrations. They wanted a war, so they demanded reports supporting their case, while dismissing contrary evidence.

A Paradigm Shift: America as Proxy

A Paradigm Shift: America as ProxyWhile Iran's prime objective is to discourage an American military assault against it, Israel seeks regional hegemony, where it is left only with "moderate" neighbours. According to this vision, conceived and promoted publicly by Israeli leaders and their friends in Washington and emphasised to the point of boring repetition by every relevant US official at every possible opportunity, the Iranian "threat" must be eradicated at any cost. Israel's fears of Iran are not nuclear in essence. What worries Israel is that Iran is militarily strong, politically cohesive and economically viable, enough to allow Iran opportunity to challenge Israel at every turn. The Israelis, as their country's history illustrates, simply despise such contenders. Israel's attempt to demolish Gamal Abdel Nasser's national regime in 1956, only eight years after the establishment of the Israeli state, is a poignant example.

You could ask Human Rights Watch, which of course talks of torture and beatings. But we know what knee-jerks the HRW folks are. To get the real truth, we turn to the U. S. State Department and its current report on Human Rights around the globe. "
Their summary on Ethiopia?
“Human rights abuses reported during the year included: limitation on citizens’ right to change their government during the most recent elections; unlawful killings, and beating, abuse, and mistreatment of detainees and opposition supporters by security forces; poor prison conditions; arbitrary arrest and detention, particularly those suspected of sympathizing with or being members of the opposition; detention of thousands without charge and lengthy pretrial detention”…and so on.
You get the picture.

Death from Above

Death from Above: "In reality, 'Death from Above' means nothing less than mass murder from 15,000 feet. It means daisy cutters, bunker busters, cruise missiles, napalm, and white phosphorous. It means depleted uranium and cluster bombs littering the landscape for decades. It means rubble, destruction, the ruination of lives by the hundreds, by the thousands and more. It means Dresden, Pearl Harbor, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki. It means 'shock and awe.' It means 9/11. It means more than space allows me to explain, yet it's perfectly normal for an American to slap a 'Death by Above' decal on his/her vehicle...right next to 'support the troops' sticker. "

In April 2000, gold was selling for $279 per ounce. Last Friday, at the close of the market it skyrocketed to $679.50---more than double the price.

"Why? What did my boys do?" the mother cried. She got no answers. The dozen gunmen dragged their new prisoners across the floor, pummeling heads with their rifle butts.

Al-Dulaimi dropped to her knees, clinging to the ankles of a kidnapper. She begged, kissing his shoes. Then she bargained: "At least leave me one. Take the other two. Leave me one."
Four years ago I was shocked to see American capture of Baghdad without a fight. According to some account Americans used chemical weapons against the defenders of the airport in Baghdad. The rapists used the same methods throughout Iraq to put down resistance forces to some success. Iraqis are still fighting the ugly occupation paying a heavy price for it. As freedom loving people around the world know, freedom need to be gotten by blood and money. It is very important that Iraqis need not to lose hope in the face of death and destruction; they are the face of resistance for every oppressed and colonized people.
