Tomgram: Why Cheney Won't Take Down Iran

Tomgram: Why Cheney Won't Take Down Iran : "It's been on the minds of antiwar activists and war critics since 2003. And little wonder. If you don't remember the pre-invasion of Iraq neocon quip, 'Everyone wants to go to Baghdad. Real men want to go to Tehran...' -- then take notice. Even before American troops entered Iraq, knocking off Iran was already 'Regime Change: The Sequel.' It was always on the Bush agenda and, for a faction of the administration led by Vice President Cheney, it evidently still is. Add to that a series of provocative statements by President Bush, the Vice President, and other top U.S. officials and former officials. Take Cheney's daughter Elizabeth, who recently sent this verbal message to the Iranians: '[D]espite what you may be hearing from Congress, despite what you may be hearing from others in the administration who might be saying force isn't on the table... we're serious.' Asked about an Israeli strike...

Another law is coming to America. Muslims beware.

As a Muslim, living in America can be hell. After September 11, 2001 al-Qaeda attack of military and civilian target using civilian planes was misconstrued as if it was committed by people of Islamic faith as a whole. Millions of Muslims one way or another attacked in different shapes and forms by American people, government and media here in the USA. Perhaps naively, I used to think America would come to its census and cease to attack Muslims in this country! Torture, arbitrary arrest, kidnapping, deportation, and long term jail is taking place and will take place even in a worst way with the enactment of the new law . The disappearance of Muslims in America and outside of the country will intensify; harassment, knocking doors, intimidation, threats, blackmail will be the norm. The loved ones who are waiting you to come home that evening may never see you again! I myself decided in 2005, not to take it anymore, I blogged and linked news and analysis from this country as well as from...

Stop America and Israel

So Iran tested a long-range missile, its range is 1,250 miles and carries a ton of conventional warhead---that is that. Iran lives under threat from America and Israel, countries have 10s of thousands ICB missiles carries conventional and nuclear warhead armed with chemical and biological weapons. America is the only rogue nation who used a nuclear bomb on its “enemy” killing 100s of thousands of people in Japan! Yet America is bulling Iran in every opportunity threatening to obliterate the peaceful country. Iran never threaten or invaded a country at any time, the country was always a victim of aggression by Taliban of Afghanistan when in power and under Saddam by Iraq for eight bloody years. The statement made by a Whiteman’s slave woman Condoleezza (condominium) Rice: "Those who say that there is no Iranian missile threat against which we should build a missile defense system perhaps ought to talk to the Iranians about their claims," is one example of American slander...

MPs accuse Washington of lying over rendition flights - UK Politics, UK - The Independent

MPs accuse Washington of lying over rendition flights - UK Politics, UK - The Independent : "MPs are to launch an investigation into US activities on Diego Garcia after accusing Washington of lying about extraordinary rendition flights from the British-controlled island in the Indian Ocean. They described false assurances given by the US about its use of Diego Garcia for the controversial flights as 'deplorable'. Following one of the strongest British condemnations of the US rendition policy, by which terror suspects are sent overseas for interrogation, the influential Foreign Affairs Committee (FAC) plans to scrutinise Whitehall's supervision of US activities on Diego Garcia, including all flights and ships serviced from there. The Foreign Secretary, David Miliband, was forced to apologise to the Commons in February after it was revealed that two US 'extraordinary rendition' flights had landed on UK territory in 2002. Britain had previously been told that no s...

: Information Clearing House - ICH : "07/07/08 'ICH' -- -- While George Bush was busy railing at Zimbabwe's President, Robert Mugabe at the G-8 summit in Toyako, Japan; his Ethiopian proxy-army in Somalia was grinding out more carnage on the streets of Mogadishu. More than 40 civilians have been killed in the last 48 hours. On Sunday, Osman Ali Ahmed, the head of the UN Development Program in Somalia, was shot gangland style as he left a mosque Mogadishu. He died before he reached the hospital with wounds to the head and chest. Ali Ahmed is just the latest of the peace-keepers who have been killed in the ongoing battle between Bush's Ethiopian occupiers and Somali guerrillas. 'I care deeply about the people of Zimbabwe,' Bush announced. 'And I am extremely disappointed in the election which I labeled a sham election.' Right. Bush's newly-discovered empathy for black people was nowhere in sight during Hurricane Katrina when thousands of Afric...
